Frequently Asked Questions: FAQs

Lord's Day Worship

Questions and Answers about Sunday Worship

What should I expect?

Isaiah 1: 18

In Isaiah 1:18, God says, "Come, let us reason together." Come ready to hear God speak to a dark world; we believe God speaks through the public reading and preaching of His holy and inerrant Word. Expect a conversation between God and His people; that's the point of worship. Also, expect warm, friendly people who love one another and you.

When is Sunday Morning Worship?

11AM

What is your Sunday schedule?

Psalm 143:8 Psalm 134

  • 10AM Fellowship Hour (setup and Sunday School)
  • 11AM Morning Worship
  • 12:30PM Fellowship Meal (plan to stay)
  • 5:30PM Evening Service

When does your men's group meet?

  • Fridays at 7AM (Check for Summer Breaks)

How Should I Dress?

1 Sam 16:7

As the Bible says, "Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). We don't prefer one type of dress over another (James 2). More important than how you dress is that you come with a heart for worshiping God (1 Peter 3:3-4). Whatever you do, come to glorify Him (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Are Children Welcome in the Service?

Mark 10:14

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for of such as these is the kingdom of heaven” (Mark 10:14). The pastor loves babies and toddlers and welcomes them with open arms, just as Christ did. He even loves them when they run past the pulpit during the sermon. The pastor addresses the children in his preaching weekly. Please, bring your children to where they can learn to worship God and grow up knowing Him and His Word.

What about Giving or Offerings?

2 Corinthians 9:7 Mark 12:41-43

The Bible teaches, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). Worship is an act of thanksgiving to God for His mercy! We welcome an offering of thanks. As Jesus taught, God values a small offering given with a thankful heart more than a large gift without gratitude (Mark 12:41-44).

Questions about Other Days Etc.

Other Frequent Questions

Do you have a dedicated prayer meeting?

Acts 2:42

We are called by God to be given to prayer (Acts 6:4). Wednesday evening we pray. This is also a time for kids catechism beginning at 6:30 PM. This is a good time to get to know one another.

Come anytime after 6PM. Outside food is allowed and encouraged.

How do I become a member and get involved?

Ephesians 4:16

As a mission church, it's easy to find a place in our fellowship. We are many parts of one Body. We need someone to take on light administrative duties and men of character to read Scripture. We also are in need of a pianist who will bring his talent to worship. Prospective members go through a membership class and give their personal testimony.

Do you emphasize discipleship and growth?

Ephesians 3 Romans 10 2Timothy 3

Discipleship is crucial for our walk with Christ. To support your spiritual growth and deepen your walk with God, we offer:

  1. Weekly, in-person worship, with sermon series and devotionals available on our YouTube channel.
  2. Dedicated Bible study groups for men and women, edifying fellowship and in-depth Scripture exploration.
  3. Recommended courses of study for growing in faith, (links available on our website).
  4. Biblical counseling with the pastor. This is part of our ministry of reconciliation in Christ.

What is your association or denomination?

We are a mission work of the Bible Presbyterian Church (BPC):

  1. The BPC is a conservative, Westminsterian Church.
  2. We have close ties historically to the Orthodox Presbyterians (OPC), and the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
  3. We believe in eschatological liberty, that the Westminster Confession allows three, reformed views. But, this excludes dispensationalism.
  4. The BPC is historically, locally involved via chaplaincy, biblical counseling, being pro-life and openly patriotic.
