Frequently Asked Questions: FAQs

Lord's Day Worship

Questions and Answers about Sunday Worship

What should I expect?

Isaiah 1: 18

In Isaiah 1:18, God says, "Come, let us reason together." Come ready to hear God speak life to a dark world; we believe God speaks through the public reading and preaching of His holy and inerrant Word. Expect a conversation between God and His people; that's reformed worship. Also, expect warm, friendly people who love God and you.

When are your services?

Psalm 143:8 Psalm 134

 SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP:

  • 11 AM Morning Worship
  • Visitors Fellowship Meal at 12:30 PM

SUNDAY EVENING FELLOWSHIP:

  • 6:00 PM Evening Fellowship (location varies)

How Should I Dress?

1 Sam 16:7

As the Bible says, "Man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7). We don't prefer one type of dress over another (James 2). More important than how you dress is that you come with a heart for worshiping God (1 Peter 3:3-4). Whatever you do, come to glorify Him (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Are Children Welcome in the Service?

Mark 10:14

“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for of such as these is the kingdom of heaven” (Mark 10:14). We love babies and toddlers and welcome them with open arms, just as Christ did. We even love them when they make noise in church. [It's true.]The pastor routinely addresses children in his preaching. Please, bring your children to worship God and grow up in His church.

What about Giving or Offerings?

2 Corinthians 9:7 Mark 12:41-43

The Bible teaches, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver" (2 Corinthians 9:7). Worship is largely an act of thanksgiving to God for His mercy! We welcome full participation in our worship, including an offering of thanks. As Jesus taught, God values a small offering given with a thankful heart more than a large gift without gratitude (Mark 12:41-44).

Questions about Other Days Etc.

Other Frequent Questions

Do you have a dedicated prayer meeting?

Acts 2:42

We are called by God to be given to prayer (Acts 6:4). Wednesday evening we pray. This is also a time for catechism, and Bible study beginning at 6:00 PM. This is also a good time to ask your questions about church membership.

Come anytime after 5:30. Outside food is allowed and encouraged.

How do I become a member and get involved?

Ephesians 4:16

There's a place for you in our fellowship. If you're visiting, we encourage you to dedicate the next 90 days to worshipping with us. This period allows you to experience reformed worship, covenant fellowship and ask questions. Also, join a Bible study.

For those desiring to join the church membership:

  1. Join our next membership class (the first step towards membership vows).
  2. If you're a member of another church, you are invited to have your formersubmit a letter of transfer to the church address.
